Practical knowledge is gained by doing things and at Milites Dei Academy, 88% of the student spend time on practical knowledge. Theoretical knowledge, on the other hand is gained, for example, by reading a manual. Thus, Milites Dei also spend some time on gaining book knowledge specifically within the PSIRA Grades, Firearm Competencies, Dog Handler Levels 1 to 5 and the CPO Sasseta Accredited Qualifications.

POLSEC is the police and security companies in the White River area that try and intimidate all criminal activities in city centers over weekends. This give a major benefit to the MDA students because they see how the police arrest people and try to keep the peace in town. The security companies serves as example of extra support to the police and keep the operations save.
In addition, and to name a few, students physically participate in escorting Very Important People and valuable goods, area security assessments, patrolling duties, supervisory tasks, armed responses, snare removals, searching of workers, chasing and catching poachers.
