Milites Dei Academy Taking Proactive Measures

Following the recent address by State President Cyril Ramaphosa, Milites Dei Academy is taking proactive measures to minimise the risk of spreading Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The most important public health principle is containment of the disease as far as possible.
The necessary services will continue on the campus of Milites Dei Academy. Milites Dei Academy will still operate as normal for learning outcomes until further notice.
Milites Dei Academy is a large property and making it possible to be more isolated from other people than in the cities. We are also located in the bushveld, where the hot daytime temperatures we are currently experiencing are less conducive to the transmission of viruses as in colder climates and also great for outdoor activities in the fresh air! The classes at the academy are 90% practical and thus teaching and learning happens in the open doors.
The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures in the workplace have been increased by implementing the following:
• Daily Awareness Talks;
• Awareness Posters;
• Workshops;
• Sanitizing Stations; and
• Sanitizing in the Workplace.
Personal hygiene is extremely important and we urge all Milites Dei Academy students and academy staff, and guests, no matter where you are, to continue to follow hygiene precautions:
• Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.
• Regularly use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Sanitizers have been installed at the academy.
• Cover your mouth (using a tissue or your elbow) when coughing or sneezing.
• Place used tissues directly into the bin, and wash your hands immediately afterwards.
• Increasingly clean all surfaces that are frequently touched using normal cleaning products.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• All students, staff members and guests will be screened when they enter the academy on a daily basis. Anybody showing a fever will be documented and advised to contact a doctor immediately. You need to declare your status to the academy with immediate effect.
• NICD Helpline – 0800 029 999
• Groups of no more than 30 students gathering outdoors will be permitted.
• There will be a control point at all entry points of the academy at all times.
Any further developments will be communicated with you.
Yours sincerely,
MILITES DEI ACADEMY
