Firearm Training in South Africa
Firearm training in South Africa follows a legal process and Milites Dei Academy adheres to this.
Firstly, the student must receive theory and practical demonstration classes, write formative and summative examinations both theory and shoot practically.
These qualifications or certificates must be issued through the South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC).
Secondly, once the student receives these qualifications, the student can apply for a SAPS competency. As the students at the academy will be operatives in the security industry this process is important and specifically the firearm business purpose competencies. Lastly, only accredited qualifications form part of the firearm training at Milites Dei Academy.
The academy also has an accredited shooting range
Milites Dei academy has an accredited shooting range that is specifically utilized for the firearm practical training and shooting for the examination processes.

| FA1. SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactical) BASIC – If You Have Firearm Certificates but Wants to Learn to Move Tactically with Firearms…Dry fire exercises and 100 Rounds of Ammunition. For 5 Days.

| FA2. FIREARMS and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) INTERMEDIATE – Unit Standard Based – If you want to work with a firearm or buy your own firearms. It includes all firearm types (handgun, shotgun, carbine and manually operated rifle for personal and business use plus 250 rounds and SWAT). Accommodation and meals included. For 28 days.

| FA3. FIREARMS, TACTICAL FIREARMS and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) ADVANCED – Unit Standard Based – If you want to really move tactically with a firearm. It includes all firearm types (handgun, shotgun, carbine and manually operated rifle) for personal and business use. Plus, tactical unit standards and ammunition (1200 rounds) – tactical knowledge, tactical handgun, tactical carbine, tactical shotgun. For 60 Days. |

RANGE OFFICER, FIREARMS, TACTICAL FIREARMS, TACTICAL RANGE OFFICER and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) ADVANCED EXTENDED – Unit Standard Based – Specialized Tactical Movements with firearms. It includes all firearm types (handgun, shotgun, carbine and manually operated rifle) for personal and business use, and range officer. Plus, tactical unit standards and ammunition (1200 rounds) – tactical knowledge, tactical handgun, tactical carbine, tactical shotgun, and tactical range officer. For 90 Days.

If you already have firearm competencies – SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) with TACTICAL FIREARMS – It includes tactical unit standards and ammunition (1200 rounds) – range officer, tactical knowledge, tactical handgun, tactical carbine, tactical shotgun, and tactical range officer. For 28 Days.

The firearm packages below do not include meals and accommodation, which is an additional cost per day.
